Ray Stewart, PE, is the founder of Blue Ridge Air Quality Engineering and brings more than 33 years of experience in air quality engineering and regulatory analysis. A licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina, Ray earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.
For nearly 32 years, Ray served with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality (NCDAQ). During that time, he held several leadership positions, including Regional Air Quality Supervisor at both the Winston-Salem and Raleigh Regional Offices. If your facility operates in those regions, there’s a strong chance you’ve seen his signature on your Air Quality Permit—or possibly on a Notice of Violation.
Ray’s decades of public-sector experience have given him a deep, working knowledge of the Clean Air Act and North Carolina’s air quality regulations, permitting processes, emissions inventory requirements, and compliance and enforcement procedures.
With the launch of Blue Ridge Air Quality Engineering, Ray is now applying that experience to help industrial clients navigate complex air quality challenges with confidence.
If you need expert guidance with permitting or compliance, I’m ready to help.
